Kids!

My sister Sarah has probably the cutest kids in the history of kid-making.
We went shopping at Kohl's today after I got home from work and had a bit of fun...
Yup. Pretty sure these kids are super-cute.
I kind of want one sometimes. Sometimes.
Can you imagine!?

Summer-Time.

There hasn't been much free time. I've been working 56 hours each week and attending 12 hours of school.
But....in the little free time I have, I'm enjoying this Summer.
Summer haircuts.
Reading in the hammock.
Sunsets with Indiana.
Hugs.
Laying in the grass, looking up at the sky.
Watching things bloom.
Enjoying the first ice cream sandwich of the season.
***
What do I need to make this summer better....
It's Simple...More free time, and more time with my husband.
I miss him everyday.
More time. That's what I need.

A Good Man.

We spent Father's Day at my parent's house. Its amazing how my family has grown. The house was filled with noise all afternoon; everyone trying to get their "piece" of the conversation heard.
Interruptions, laughter, accusations, sarcasm, and cheesy greeting cards.
This is the Roylance way, and I loved every second of it.
We may be overwhelming at times, especially to new arrivals, but we'd do anything for each other, and our steadfast loyalty derives from Dad.

I'm completely amazed at how my dad managed a household of girls; outspoken, stubborn, and head-strong girls. We gave him hell at times, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm grateful for my family, as unique as we are.
I'm grateful for my dad.
He has taught me determination and the existence of endless possibilities.
He has taught me sacrifice, selflessness, and that its never inappropriate to stand up for yourself.
He has taught me to be myself and always live an honest life.

He is a good man deserving of celebration.
I hope you took a moment today to celebrate a father in your life.
A man that is deserving of celebration.
Happy Father's Day.

Messy w/You.

We planted our Japanese Maple and Pom-Pom Pine today.
It was an enjoyable experience.
I have to say, I love working in the yard.
This was completely unexpected, but I love spending time out in the sun, digging in the dirt.
I love the smells and the satisfaction of seeing what's accomplished at the end.
Soon we'll pick up all our shrubs and get them planted.
Then we'll move onto the flowers, which can wait until next year if necessary.
I'm loving summer at home. And getting messy with the husband.
Yes-This thing called "Home" is a messy thing.
I love it.

Say, "Hello."

Blake works nights. He comes home just as the sun comes up, and every morning Indiana waits at the top of the stairs....listening for Blake.

And every morning, when he finally arrives, she greets him with a human hug.
It's true...A solid human hug.
I've been wanting to capture it on film for so long, I can't explain. I've never had a dog like this before, and I laugh so hard every time she says, "Hello."

P.S. Don't mind me. I talk to my dog like she's a human, because she completely understands me. I also giggle obscenely when I'm excited. Oh, and it's 6AM so please give me a break.

{Don't mind me. I'm an expert artist.}

We picked up our trees the other day.
I think they're going to look so good in our front yard.
Blake picked out the Pom Pom Pine. And I love the Japanese Maple.
We'll get them in the ground on Sunday.
SHADE!
