Anitque jewelry, Indian food, and costumes.

My 25th birthday was this past Thursday.
I can't believe I'm 25 years old.
I don't feel responsible enough to be 25.
To celebrate my aging self, Blake and I went to our very favorite restaurant, India Palace.
Before we moved, we were going to the restaurant nearly once a week.
Yes, we were definitely regulars.
When we walked in the owner, Amrik, greeted us and said in his fabulous Indian accent, "My friends. It has been a while. I am so happy you are back."
I love that man.
We feasted on Saag Paneer, Mango Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Mango Ice Cream....So Yummy!~Our usual table-Next to the window~
~
We also went costume shopping for Halloween.
This year we dressed up as the couple from Maverick for my mother in law's annual Halloween party...Mel and Jodie.
We rocked it.
It was so much fun...We'll post pics of our costumes as soon as we get them from Blake's mom.
~
For my birthday, Blake got me some antique 1940's jewelry.
A bracelet from Sweden and earrings from Denmark. To celebrate my long and nearly forgotten heritage.
They're perfect.
~
It was a great day.
And we ended it with a perfect glass of deep red Merlot.

P.S. I finally got my braces off and I couldn't be happier!

Fence.

Our first big project.

Yes...The fence project is beginning. Our bro-in-law is getting it done for us because we know he will do an amazing job. And yes...We will definitely have our back yard fenced before winter arrives.
We're very excited for this.

I can't wait to have a completely private and fenced in yard. It may not be a large space, but I know it will be perfect for us once it is complete.
It will give our dog, Indiana, more freedom to explore and play. I'm sure she would be very excited for this, if only there was a way to give her a hint. If only she knew what was coming. It makes me that much more excited for her.

I especially can't wait. I am a very private person, and I can't wait to have my own private little getaway. I plan on creating a haven, filled with a lush vegetable garden, beautiful flowers, bird houses, and all those little details to create a sanctuary where I can leave everything behind and read, relax, and listen to nature. Enjoy the outside. Alone. In private.

Before and after pictures will come soon.
For now...Have a happy weekend.

Happy Halloween!

I'm so excited for Halloween!
I love Halloween. It's the best holiday of the year!
I can't wait!
My mom-in-law does a themed party every year.
This year...
In good and clean satire fun....
Mr. crazy-man, Mel Gibson, is the theme!
Oh man...This man is so completely insane.
This should be fun!
Now for the big unveiling...
Blake and I are pleased to announce our costume for this year!!!Yes-sir!
Blake and I are going as 'Maverick'
Bret Maverick and Annabelle Bransford, that is!
I can't wait for my costume to arrive!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Fall.

I love the fall.I love fall colors...Orange, red, yellow, brown.
The warmth of fall is amazing.
There may be a chill in the air, but fall is filled with the most warm colors.
Fall is rich.
Today we went up Millcreek canyon in Salt Lake to take some family pictures.
This was my first time up this canyon and is was breathtaking.
The colors were amazing.I can't wait to get our pictures back.
And I think Blake, Indi, and I will be heading back up there soon for a family hike.
Before all the leaves fall.-Blake and Jess.

We have a little princess...

Indiana.
Our girl. Our babe.
Our dog.
She's trouble.
She is one high maintenance little puppy.
And she always has been.
Anyone who knows anything about our dog, knows that she has some major stomach problems.
Its so frustrating.
And we have had enough!
We took her to the vet today and demanded some answers.
Poor little girl has doggy colitis.
She gets stress induced flair ups.
No fun!
So....What do you do to fix this, you ask?
Why...Treat her like a little princess of course!
Her new diet...
Consists of: Medication-Antibiotics, Imodium, Metamucil; Food-Prescription canned dog food that we will be mixing with her regular dog food, and a nightly dinner of boiled chicken and steamed white rice...oh and don't forget a spoonful of canned pumpkin for dessert!
She's a princess.
One high maintenance pup.
